Uni the Unicorn

This enchanted little story about a unicorn who is teased for believing in the idea that little girls might exist is such a sweet story. My daughter is currently in a huge unicorn phase and is pretty much obsessed with all things unicorn and LOL dolls but that’s a different story for another time! This story changes the game around and instead of little girls believing in unicorns, this particular story is told from the perspective of the unicorn and the idea that little girls might actually exist. I highly recommend this fun read for anyone with a little girl who dreams of unicorns. This has quickly become one of Stella’s favorite bedtime story.

I’m Not a Scaredy Cat

I love this cute story and the way that it demonstrates fear, brave, and trust in God into little minds. This fun read will allow young readers to better understand the importance of trusting in God and not letting our fears take over us. Written in the form of a prayer and centered on the idea of not letting fear take over and learning to trust God will give children a deeper understanding of God’s love for us. I do believe that morals, values, and the fundamental teachings of God, His love for us, and His promises to us all begin at home and it’s stories like this one that make it fun, enjoyable, and also relatable to children, especially the younger ones.

Corduoy

In a true, classic story about friendship and finding your forever home, this story should be a MUST HAVE in every child’s bookcase. Both a lonely teddy bear and a young girl find the warmth and comfort of a true friendship with each other in this classic children’s story. I love stories that teach children about important values and themes that they can carry on with them in different parts of their lives. Kindness and friendship are definitely at the center of this story’s theme.

Skippy Jon Jones

Ok so this story and its other stories in this hilarious series of a Siamese cat who swears he is a Chihuahua will have you laughing along with your kids. When I first discovered this book and all the stories in the series, what I really loved about them was the accent that this story is written with the bilingual dialogue because of coarse this cat is under the impression that he is a Chihuahua from Mexico. Skippy Jon Jones is definitely one of my favorite children’s books character and I’m sure your kids (no matter their age) will fall in love with this one and his many crazy adventures!

The Rainbow Fish

Ok so I had to leave my all time favorite for last! This beautifully illustrated children’s book has been my absolute favorite since I was a child myself. I can vividly remember my teachers reading it in school and having my own Rainbow Fish book at home. Aside from the obvious, that the illustrations are beautiful and eye catching with the glimmering scales of this rainbow fish, the theme of this story is such a perfect one for children of all ages. The importance of sharing, acceptance, and valuing friendship and quality time with others over materialistic things is a valuable lesson that this rainbow fish learns.
